When Is the Best Time to Take a Pregnancy Test?
To have the most accurate pregnancy test results, the best time to take a pregnancy test is when your period is two weeks late. This is when it’s 90% accurate.
If you take a pregnancy test between 21 and 24 days after the first day of your last period, that’s when some tests say it’s most accurate. But, we think it’s best if you can wait to take one after your missed period.
How Does a Pregnancy Test Work?
The pregnancy test detects the hormone hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin). This is found in pregnant women’s urine. If the hCG isn’t found, it means that it’s too early and the hormone hasn’t developed in your urine, or you are not pregnant.
Our Medical team will administer the test and discuss your options right after the test results are known.
